About Digital SCKLS

When federal funds became available for regional library development in 1965, seven regions were established and made eligible for planning grants under Title I of the Library Services and Construction Act. That year, the Kansas legislature passed a bill which permitted the organization of regional systems of cooperating libraries.

The South Central Kansas Library System (SCKLS) was officially established June 17, 1967.

This archival resource offers information about the establishment of SCKLS including annual system plans of service and other historical records.
