"Libraries, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Regional Library System, South Central. Its continuing mission- to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no librarian has gone before. Tea. Earl Grey, hot. Captain's Log Stardate 04 24 17. This is Captain Paul Joseph Hawkins. We're on a peaceful mission to a small planet in the Kansas Nebula. Our focus is an unstudied phenomenon known as Grant Area Five. We've been authorized to use the Lightspeed Warm Drive to move back in time to the 20th century, the mid 1960s, man! Our mission: historical research. Interstellar communications suggest how the regional library system began. These early librarians and citizens were pioneers exploring a new frontier. They had a simple idea, but the challenge was building a galactic wagon train that could make its way to the stars. The possibilities, the potential for library advancement were great, in a society in which all libraries were capable of superior service. All they needed was a good book and a library at which to find it. Now, join us as the Starship South Central embarks on our renewed mission to keep libraries great."
