RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH-CENTRAL KANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM
WHEREAS, The respective library boards of the municipalities of Argonia, Arkansas City, Arlington, Belle Plaine, Buhler, Burrton, Canton, Clearwater, Colwich, Derby, Douglass, El Dorado, Hardtner, Hutchinson, Inman, Kingman, Kiowa, Leon, Little River, Lyons, McPherson, Marquette, Medicine Lodge, Mount Hope, Mulvane, Newton, Nickerson, Norwich, Partridge, Potwin, Pretty Prairie, Sterling, Walton, Whitewater, Wichita, Winfield, and Zenda, except the territory of Andover, Augusta, Bushton, Caldwell, Cheney, Conway Springs, Dexter, Geneseo, Halstead, Haven, Hesston, Oxford, Sedgwick, South Haven, Towanda, Turon, Valley Center, and Wellington library boards which is excluded, in the counties of Barber, Butler, Cowley, Harvey, Kingman, McPherson, Reno, Rice, Sedgwick, and Sumner, State of Kansas, are library boards of libraries established and operating under the laws of Kansas, as contemplated by the provisions of K.S.A. 1965 Supp. 75-2547 et seq, and
WHEREAS, The above named library boards have duly petitioned the Kansas Library Advisory Commission for establishment of a regional system of cooperating libraries comprised of the territory within the above named counties, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Kansas Library Advisory Commission, pursuant to K.S.A. 1965 Supp. 75-2547 et seq, on this 17th day of June, 1967:
1. There is hereby established a Regional System of cooperating libraries comprised of the territory in the counties named in the preamble of this resolution (except territory excluded), and such regional system shall be and is named and styled SOUTH-CENTRAL KANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM.
2. The participating libraries in the SOUTH-CENTRAL KANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM shall consist of the libraries named in the preamble of this resolution and such other libraries as may from time to time petition and be approved by the State Library Advisory Commission for membership therein.
3. The organization and administration of the said SOUTH-CENTRAL KANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM Shall be in accord with K.S.A. 1965 Supp. 75-2547 et seq and any amendments hereafter made to such statutes, and in accord with the resolutions of uniform fiscal operation adopted by the respective participating library boards, and in accord with the petitions for establishment of the system: Provided, however, Organization and administration of the system shall be subject to any rules and regulations adopted by the State Library Advisory Commission and any annual review requirements made by said Commission.
4. The system board shall consist of the representatives selected
-by the participating boards one from each board and ten representatives as shall be selected by the Governor of this State, the total number of such representatives being limited to one member from each participating board and ten selected by the Governor
5. The SOUTH-CENTRAL KANSAS LIBRARY SYSTEM is established upon the effective date of this resolution, which shall be the 1st day of July, 1957, and shall remain in force subject to the conditions of paragraph 3, hereof.
